Bengaluru, Jan. 18: An Eight-year-old ragpicker got electrocuted on Thursday morning while he was trying to pull the gye wire (support to electric pole) installed to the transformer at Manchenahalli town of Gowribidanuru sub-division.
The deceased has been identified as Nagendra. He got electrocuted when he pulled a gye wire of the transformer which was just adjacent to a drain. The wire came in contact with the LT circuit and got electrocuted. BESCOM is not at fault in this case.
Senior officials of BESCOM have visited the spot and are awaiting an Electrical Inspectorate report on the accident.
The incident occurred at Chikkaballapura- Gowribidanuru National highway where work is under progress.
