Bengaluru, Jan. 31: A day after pothole habba by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders exposing apathy of the BBMP authorities towards filling killer potholes, an innocent school teacher Sharmila came under a truck while trying to avoid a pothole at Byadarahalli.
The AAP on Monday staged a massive protest, condemning the death of school teacher Sharmila.
Bengaluru police arrested AAP leaders Prithvi Reddy, HD Basavaraju, Mohan Dasari and many others and filed a case against them for protesting
Speaking at a protest at the accident site, AAP president Prithvi Reddy said, “This is not the first time motorists are hit by potholes. Such events would continue to recur. State government, local legislators, BBMP and BWSSB should be held responsible for the accident and death of teacher Sharmila.
AAP senior leader and former MLA HD Basavaraju said, “Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has failed to protect the lives of civilians. The money released for the repair of the road is being pocketed by the politicians.

The AAP has lodged a complaint at the police station against MLA ST Somashekhar, BBMP chief commissioner and BWSSB MD. A case has been filed on charges of negligence causing death of people.
