Bengaluru, July 31: Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru Development Minister DK Shivakumar on Wednesday said that the preparations for the corporation elections under the Greater Bengaluru Authority would be completed by December 1.

Speaking at a meeting with party leaders from various regions of Bengaluru city, he said, “We had a meeting of GBA officials and preparations are on to conduct elections for Bengaluru corporations. We will submit an affidavit to Supreme Court regarding corporation elections.”

“We have instructed the officials to complete all processes including ward delimitation and review of objections from the public before December 1. You have to prepare for elections in your respective wards,” he told the party leaders.

BLA appointments

“Before coming to this meeting, I have signed a document appointing BLAs. We will be looking at the interest levels and participation of the party leaders in the election process,” he said.

“The government has decided to conduct a survey of backward classes and our party workers must create awareness about it. This is a gift given by Rahul Gandhi. He has suggested that the survey be conducted as per the Telangana model. A team will visit Telangana to study its model,” he said.
