Bengaluru, Feb 28: Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar today said there were no pro-Pakistan slogans in Vidhana Souda and added that the police will take stringent action if there were any slogans.
Speaking to reporters near his Sadashivanagar residence before leaving for Himachal Pradesh, he said, “The police will take action as per the law. BJP leaders are twisting this for political gains. They are doing it out of desperation of losing the Rajya Sabha elections. There were no slogans but if there were slogans, the police will take strict action.”
“We have instructed the police to carry out a thorough investigation and take action against the culprits. If there is a conspiracy to spread lies, strict action will be initiated,” he added.
Asked about his visit to Himachal Pradesh as an observer, he said, “The Party has instructed me to go there as an observer. The BJP is in a hurry to bring down governments throwing away democratic values. A democracy needs a strong opposition. BJP is setting a wrong precedent and it will boomerang on them someday. I am confident that our party MLAs in Himachal Pradesh will stay loyal to the party.”
