No compromise in welfare of dalits, oppressed classes: CM Bommai

Bengaluru, May 2: Welfare of the dalits and oppressed classes is my objective. They should lead a life of dignity. There will be no compromise in ensuring it, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.

The Chief Minister was speaking after launching the ‘Kalyna Mitra’ helpline for the people and a workshop for the officers of Social Welfare department.

The Chief Minister sent a strong message to the officials of the department to pull up their socks and resolve to serve the weaker sections with sincerity. “It is your duty to use the power vested with you for the welfare of these classes. You should have the commitment to deliver the welfare programmes of the government to the people. The department should first raise its capacity to realise the objective of the government,” Bommai said.

Overhaul of administration

Bommai wanted the officials to look at the problems from the perspective of the poor people who approach them to avail the benefits. “We will bring overall changes in administration and reduce the layers of the decision making system. The Socials Welfare department would be overhauled,” he said.

Laxity, neglect will not be tolerated

Though the government is providing grants, there has been delays in selecting the beneficiaries. Our government will not tolerate laxity, neglect and non-cooperation in administration. Bommai said.

The records should be simplified, there is a need for huge changes in coordination among the staff, you should make the scheme simple and deliver them to the beneficiaries in time, Bommai said.

Even 75 years after the country attained independence, the oppressed classes are still struggling to get their due, social justice. Our government will never accept negligence and red tapism, Bommai stated. of grants for beneficiaries; CM sets the goal, will personally monitor the implementation
