Night curbs likely to be eased, CM convenes high level meeting

Bengaluru, Jan. 29: In the wake of declining Covid-19 cases and pressure from several industries, the restrictions on the ongoing night curfew is likely to be eased to favour some industries which, are active after the fall of dusk.

Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai has convened a high level meeting at 1 pm at Krishna.

Hotels, pubs, clubs, bar and restaurants favour night life and do brisk business. It may be recalled that the weekend curfew was relaxed after the industry exerted massive pressure on the government machinery.

As per the data graph provided by the health and family welfare department, the Covid-19 cases is steadily on the declining path.

On January 26, the case load across the state was 48905 while, Bengaluru registered 22427 cases. On January 27, the numbers were 38083 and 17717 in the state and city respectively.

Yesterday, the state saw 31108 cases while, city witnessed 15199 cases. The above statistics is an indication that the cases are declining and night curfew will either be lifted or relaxed in a staggered manner.

The meeting will be attended by ministers and top officials of key departments like revenue, health, education, home, urban develolment among others.

BBMP administrator Rakesh Singh, BBMP chief commissioner Gaurav Gupta, city police commissioner Kamal Pant are the key attendees.
