Bengaluru, Oct. 25: Prakriya Hospitals, a leading healthcare provider in Bengaluru, has introduced India’s first indigenously developed surgical robotic system, the SSi Mantra.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. CN Manjunath, MP, Bengaluru Rural, and renowned cardiologist said, “I am happy to inaugurate the Robotic Unit at Prakriya. With advancements in technology, most surgeries are now Minimal Access, leaving smaller scars and allowing for quicker patient recovery through laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures. The Robotic system installed at Prakriya is indigenously developed and part of the Atmanirbhar Bharath initiative. Previously, such systems were imported at a cost of around ₹15 crores, but this home-grown version is both cost-effective and highly successful. Prakriya Hospitals is known to offer highly efficient and affordable treatment options.” Other dignitaries of the programme were Hon’ble MLA from Dasarahalli, Mr S Muniraju, Dr Kamini A Rao (pioneer in assisted reproduction in India) and Managing Director Dr. Prakash Ramachandra.
