Make use of five guarantees: Minister Chaluvaraya Swamy

Bengaluru, Jan. 30: Agriculture minister Chaluvaraya Swamy called upon people to make optimal use of give guarantees which the government has introduced in an attempt to financially support poor and economically weaker section. 

Speaking at the inauguration of giving away certain materials to beneficiaries and loan facility to DCC bank’s Self Help Group (SHG) at the Mysyugar Factory on Tuesday. A total of 112 crore interest-free loans were disbursed to SHG members. Loans up to Rs. Five lakhs is provided to SHGs. Interest is levied only for loans above Rs. Five lakh, he added. 

A total of Rs, 16,000 crore has been disbursed to 20 lakh farmers without levying any interest on it. The Skakti scheme which was introduced to empower women has been welcomed very well. So far, a total of 3.58 crore women have made use of the scheme, he informed. While, 4.36 lakh beneficiaries have enjoyed Anna Bhagya scheme for which the government has doled out Rs. 137 crore. 

Similarly, Gruhalakshmi scheme where women head of the family gets Rs. 2,000 has been provided to 4.35 lakh people, Gruha Jyothi has been benefitted 4.64 households while Yuvanidhi has helped 2,600 youths, he added. Further, the state government has been providing social security schemes like old age pension, widow pension and others, he said.
