Bengaluru, March 18: Dr CN Ashwath Narayan, Minister for Higher Education inaugurated the ‘Maharani Cluster University’ on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion he said that the institution which was founded as Maharani Science college in 1938 by visionary Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wodeyarin has gradually evolved over the years.
The governments have been taking several measures to empower women. The national education policy (NEP-2020) also aspires for easy and equitable access to higher education for women, Narayan explained.
Yaduvira Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, scion of erstwhile Mysuru Dynasty, MLC A.Deve Gowda, Dr Gomatidevi, VC, Dr Srinivada Balli, VC, Nripatunga University, and Manjunatha, president, Government Degre College Lecturers Association were present.
