Belgaum, March 7: In a compelling address at the 23rd (2nd) Annual Convocation of Visvesvaraya Technological University,Belagavi Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot underscored the pivotal role of learning in propelling India towards unprecedented accomplishments in science and technology. Recognizing India’s strides in space research, exemplified by the Chandrayaan and Mars missions, as well as advancements in internet technology, Governor Gehlot highlighted the nation’s newfound global standing.
Governor Gehlot commended the concerted efforts of both central and state governments in fostering a self-reliant India through advancements in science and technology. He stressed the indispensable contribution of technical education in cultivating skilled human resources and elevating quality of life, emphasizing the imperative for proactive measures to harness emerging technologies.
Reflecting on the dynamism of technological evolution, Governor Gehlot urged for vigilant planning and adaptability across all sectors. Emphasizing the pivotal role of students, researchers, and scientists in shaping a digital India, he invoked Swami Vivekananda’s exhortation to relentlessly pursue national development.
Governor Gehlot espoused a culture of continuous learning, asserting that the pursuit of knowledge is indispensable for personal and collective success. Encouraging graduates to leverage their acquired skills for the nation’s advancement, he invoked the ethos of ‘Make in India’, ‘Made in India’, and ‘Swavalambi India’.
The convocation witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries including Higher Education Minister Dr. M.C Sudhakar, SELCO Foundation CEO Harish Hande, and Vice Chancellor Prof. S Vidyashankar.
