Bengaluru, Oct. 31: It is the responsibility of the court to provide equal justice to everyone in a timely manner including the poor, backward, children and women, said Hon’ble Supreme Court Justice Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari.
He was speaking at the Legal Literacy Program on Innovative Remedial Measures in the Judicial System held at the Akash Medical Education Institute in Devanahalli in collaboration with the National Legal Services Authority, State Legal Services Authority, District Legal Services Authority, District Administration, Bangalore Rural District.


Every citizen should know about the duties of the law, the law has provided equal opportunities to everyone. The court will provide justice to everyone. Therefore, legal knowledge is important for everyone. Be aware of social justice.
The court provides justice to the complaints filed by the public. Similarly, the common people should be aware of their social justice and responsibility. It is our responsibility to eliminate inequality, preserve diversity, provide equal opportunities, and protect rights.
Awareness in judicial system is being created among the people by making innovations. He said that if the income is less than three lakhs, free legal aid is provided to such people by the Legal Services Authority.

Honorable Supreme Court Justice Arvind Kumar, who presided over the program, said that modern style and new innovations are being tried in the judicial system. Lok Adalat was implemented during the Covid period.
This helped dispose off 1.59 lakh cases. Technology has developed a lot in the country and the public needs to be aware of legal rights. The State Legal Services Authority is at the top of the country in the disposal of cases, he added.
Honorable Advocate General of the Government of Karnataka Shashi Kiran Shetty, Registrar General of the High Court of Karnataka K.S. Bharat Kumar, Deputy Commissioner AB Basavaraju, SP CK Baba, Member Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority and Senior Civil Judge Shri Shaila Bheemsena Bagadi, other dignitaries, college students were present.
