Bengaluru, Dec. 11: The prestigious Institute of Health Management Research Bangalore (IIHMR B) successfully organized its 19th Foundation Day and Alumni Meet 2023 on December 9.
This event commemorated the institution’s remarkable journey in delivering excellence in Healthcare Management Education and Research. Distinguished dignitaries Dr. Neetu Kumari Singh, Director of Relacy Healthcare, Dr. Govindaiah Yatheesh, Vice President & Unit Head of Apollo Hospitals, Jayanagar, President of PHANA Karnataka, Dr. S. D. Gupta, Trustee Secretary, IIHMR Society, Dr. Usha Manjunath, Director, IIHMRB, Dr. Kirti Udayai, Associate Dean Academics, IIHMR Bangalore, and Dr Deepashree M R, President, Alumni Association IIHMRB, graced the celebratory event.
The dignitaries recognized and congratulated the alumni and the institution for their accomplishments and expressed gratitude for the much-needed research and capacity-building efforts of the IIHMR B.
The Institute of Health Management Research (IHMR)-Bangalore, renowned for its contributions in Health Management, Hospital Management, Research, and Training in the southern part of India, had received numerous accolades. These include the GOLD BAND grade in Outcome Based Education Ranking 2023 – World Institutional Ranking 2023, India’s Best B School Ranking – Business Today, 2023, and being the 10th B School in Bengaluru – Outlook B School Ranking and The Week 10th B School Ranking 2023 in Bengaluru. During this time, the institution had over 100 students pursuing the course, with approximately 43 students benefiting from scholarships based on merit, caste, and income.
IIHMR Bangalore offered a two-year full-time Postgraduate Program in Hospital and Health Management (Equivalent to MBA) with specializations in Hospital Management, Health Management, Health IT Management, and Pharmaceutical Management. This program had received approval from the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), accreditation from NBA (National Board of Accreditation), and MBA equivalency recognition from AIU (Association of Indian Universities). Notably, it was the first educational institution in India to be accredited by NABET as a Hospital and Healthcare Consultant Organization for NABH standards.
With a global network of over 400 alumni, IHMR Bangalore stood as a pioneer in healthcare management education. The program significantly enhanced students’ understanding of business and fostered numerous successful professional careers. Alumni from the institution held positions in esteemed national and international organizations. The alumni actively maintained connections with their alma mater through annual alumni meetings, industry and academic interfaces, mentorship programs, and various other initiatives.
