Mangalore, June 16: Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, emphasized the crucial role of education in achieving success during his address at Mangalore University’s 42nd convocation.
Participating at the 42nd convocation on Saturday he highlighted the necessity of integrating modern knowledge with traditional values to benefit mankind and steer global progress.
“Education plays an important role in success in life,” Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot stated. “It is useful in every field of life, enhancing skills that enable individuals to achieve great success in their areas of interest.”
Reflecting on India’s post-independence achievements, Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot noted the country’s significant progress and economic growth, proudly mentioning that India now boasts the world’s fifth-largest economy. He urged for continued efforts to strengthen this position and strive towards placing India among the world’s developed nations.
“India was once known as the golden bird and a world leader,” he said. “To regain this stature, we need collaborative efforts, harnessing the skills, talents, and energy of our youth. Their role is crucial in this endeavor.”
Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot also praised Mangalore University’s contributions, noting that the institution has produced many distinguished scientists, philosophers, politicians, and athletes who have brought pride to Karnataka and the nation. He lauded the university’s successful implementation of the e-governance system.
During the convocation, the Governor awarded degrees to meritorious achievers, recognizing their outstanding contributions to society and the country. He encouraged all graduates to continue their service and actively participate in the nation’s development.
The event was attended by Professor Sachin Chaturvedi, Vice Chancellor Professor P.L. Dharma, and other distinguished guests.
