Bangalore, Dec. 9: The state government is doing exemplary achievement in the field of industries and skill development. In this background the state government is committed to construct state of the art townships at the industrial areas, assured Higher Education and Skill development Minister Dr. CN Ashwath Narayan.
Participating at the PIA MSME excellence awards programme organised at the
Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) by the Peenya Industrial Area (PIA) he said that constructing the state-of-the-art townships is essential at all the industrial areas including at the PIA.
The township must encompass all the necessary social and physical infrastructure with special focus to safety and security. The state government is committed and striving to make this into a reality, assured the minister.
Skill and skilled labours are the main ingredients of industries. The state and centre have taken keen interest in setting up skill development programmes which are supportive to industries.
ITI institutes in the state have been upgraded to newer heights. Karnataka has potential to provide or supply skilled labours to three to four neighbouring states and emphasis has been laid towards setting up institutions which provide skill-oriented training to students, he reiterated.
There will be no dearth of skilled force to the industries in the coming days. Karnataka has been excelling in the areas of industry, innovation and research. Special focus is being given to industries which is the driver and contributing to the economic growth of the state, said Dr. Ashwath Narayan.
“It is sad to say that we have missed first, second and third industrial revolution. It is time that the we should capitalise on the fourth phase of the industrial revolution to achieve maximum,” he felt.
Along with the growth of industries it enhances employment generation and improves the livelihood of the employees. Peenya industrial area is a live example for this, said Adichunchanagiri math seer Sri Sri Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji.
By paying to the society one can expect good benefits in return, said Sadguru Madhusudhan of the Prashanti Balamandur Trust. It is like Jana Seveye Janardhana Seve (serving society is like serving God). Free medical camp will be extended to the employees of Peenya Industries. Medical college will be established at the Channenahalli at Magadi Road. Free education will be provided from kindergarten to post graduation, added Sadguru.
Peenya Industrial area was struck in the grip of dreaded Corona and employees suffered with no job, salary and food. Now the industrial sector is bouncing back to normalcy. The government improve the infrastructure of the area in sync with the recent developments, said Dasarahalli MLA R. Manjunath.
PIA is the biggest industrial cluster in the South Asia and is spread around 48 kms with over 16,000 micro, small and medium enterprises. It has provided employment to a whopping four lakh women force at over 7000 MSME units, said H. Manjunath, president of PIA.
Siddaganga Math seer Sri Sri Siddalinga Swamy, co-operation minister ST Somashekar, FKCCI president BV Gopala Reddy, KASSIA president KN Narasimha Reddy were among others who were present on the occasion.
