Golden Jubilee Mahotsav set to create India Book of Records by chanting two crore Stotras

Sringeri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Bharatithirtha Swamiji’s 50th deeksha anniversary

Bangalore, Oct 19; Sringeri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Bharatitheertha Swamiji’s 50th anniversary of his ordination will be held at the Krishna Vihara at palace grounds on the 26th.
Preparations are being made to create a record in the India Book of Records by chanting two crore “Namah Shivaya” hymns simultaneously under the Kalyanavrushti Mahabhiyana.

Nagananda, a senior lawyer of the Supreme Court, informed that more than two lakh people will recite Kalyanavrishtistava, Shivpanchakshara Nakshatramalastotra and Lakshminrisimhakarunarasastotra.

The Stotras of Shankaracharya have been taught by the Vedanta Bharati organization and the hymns are sung in unison. This is an innovative programme, these stotras have a sense of unity and the Panchakshari Mahamantra will also come. It has 27 hymns. Namah Shivaya is being chanted four times, and if we multiply this, it will be more than two crores. Thus, the program aims to chant two crore Stotras at one place, and steps are being taken to create a record and make the Golden Jubilee memorable.

Lakhs of students are also participating in the program and everyone will be given a digital e-certificate, he said. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar will be the chief guest of the program and the program is organized under the leadership of Shankarabharathi Swamiji, Dean of Yadatore Sri Yoganandeshwar Saraswati Mutt. Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, Union Secretary Prahlada Joshi, V. Somanna and other dignitaries will participate. For the event, Bangalore metropolis has been divided into 25 regions, each region named as Ayodhya.

He said that more than one lakh devotees and more than one lakh students from thousands of study centers across the entire Bangalore city will participate. Supreme Court Senior Advocate B.C. Prabhakar said that people from all walks of life regardless of gender, caste, age, including urban local body workers, disabled, visually impaired, senior citizens will participate in the program. He said that every facility like food, medicine, water was provided by the devotees and 10 thousand self-service workers are working tirelessly for the success of the Golden Jubilee.
