In the wake of repeated fatal near fatal accidents due to the deathtrap like potholes across the city, the BBMP chief commissioner Gourav Gupta directed all engineers to fill potholes on warfooting.Addressing the engineers across the city through video conferencing he directed engineers fill potholes on all arterial, sub arterial and ward roads, failing which the responsibility for any untoward incidents will be fixed on the engineers concerned, he warned.Mr. Gupta has directed the engineera to list the roads which needs immediate repairs and asphalting.
To enssure smooth flow of vehicles fill or repair pothole ridden roads before taking up black topping of city roads, he suggeated.Work should begin on all zones on priority and engineers must provide a list of roads and progress report of the works taken up he warned.
The roads located in 110 villages, that have been merged with the BBMP must not be ignored and smooth flow of vehicles must be ensured, directed Mr. Gupta.Further, he directed officials to ensure all street lights are illuminated. The street lampposts must be replaced with LED bulbs. Repair of defunct street lamps must be taken up on priority basis, warned Mr. Gupta.
