In the limits of the Bengaluru North City Corporation Commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar conducted a phone-in programme today morning from 7:00 AM at the Control Room located on Amruthahalli Main Road, Byatarayanapura.
Prompt Filling of Potholes and Road Repairs:
As a majority of complaints received during the phone-in programme were related to potholes, the Commissioner instructed concerned officials to immediately fill the potholes across the Bengaluru North City Corporation limits and to undertake necessary repair works on damaged roads. He emphasized maintaining roads in a manner that facilitates smooth public movement.
Priority Action to Control Aggressive Stray Dogs:
Several citizens raised concerns about the increasing menace of stray dogs in different areas. Taking note of this, the Commissioner directed the animal husbandry officers to identify aggressive stray dogs on a priority basis, ensure necessary treatment, and take preventive measures to avoid inconvenience or danger to the public.
Summary of Complaints Received During the Programme:
- Road maintenance, repairs, and potholes – 20 complaints
- Solid waste management – 7 complaints
- E-khata and related services – 6 complaints
- Public health and stray dog issues – 6 complaints
- Removal of dangerous trees/branches – 3 complaints
- Streetlight maintenance – 2 complaints
- Building plan-related issues – 2 complaints
- Park maintenance – 1 complaint
- Traffic issues – 1 complaint
Additionally, 3 complaints related to other City Corporations and 3 complaints pertaining to departments such as the Traffic Police and BWSSB were received. These will be forwarded to the respective City Corporations and concerned departments for further action.
In toto, 39 calls were received during today’s Phone-in Programme, and 54 complaints were registered.
The Commissioner will continue to hold the Phone-in Programme every Friday to hear public grievances, ensure their timely redressal, and monitor the progress of developmental works within the City Corporation limits. All complaints received will be reviewed and appropriate action will be taken through the respective officials in accordance with regulations.
