BBMP Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao has directed officials to complete the ongoing flyover construction at Hosakerehalli Junction within three months.
During an inspection of various development projects in the Rajarajeshwari Nagar Zone, the Chief Commissioner visited the ongoing flyover work near PES College on Outer Ring Road at Hosakerehalli Junction. He instructed the officials to expedite the work and ensure its completion within the stipulated three-month period.
The 500-meter-long flyover project is currently 75% complete. The down-ramp work is in progress, and a proposal has been submitted for the widening of the service road. He directed the officials to complete the land acquisition process quickly and coordinate with the Bengaluru City Traffic Police Department to ensure the project is completed swiftly.
Inspection at Nayandahalli Junction:
At Nayandahalli Junction, he noticed unauthorized encroachments on the pedestrian pathway along the service road, which had accumulated unusable items. He ordered their immediate removal. He also instructed the officials to clear unauthorized parking under the flyover to facilitate smooth vehicular movement.
Regarding the Vrishabhavathi Valley bridge near Nayandahalli Junction, plans are in place to construct an additional bridge vent with funding from the World Bank. Officials were directed to begin the tender process as soon as the funds are received and to ensure timely completion of the work.
Instructions were also given to clean silt from stormwater drains and side drains to ensure smooth water flow. The vacant BBMP-owned land near the stormwater drain at Nayandahalli should be cleaned and beautified.
Prevent Sewage Line Leakage:
A major sewage pipeline runs through the Vrishabhavathi Valley, where leakage was observed. The Chief Commissioner directed officials to immediately coordinate with the BWSSB to prevent sewage from entering the stormwater drain system.
Inspection at Gopalan Arch Flyover:
Flyover work near Gopalan Arch on Mysore Road is currently stalled due to the pending acquisition of 33 properties. He instructed officials to expedite the land acquisition process and resume the project at the earliest.
Additionally, he directed a survey to determine if there are any encroachments on the adjacent rajakaluve. If encroachments are found, officials were instructed to initiate immediate clearance operations.
BHEL Junction Inspection:
At the BHEL Junction near Deepanjali Nagar Metro Station on Mysore Road, he reviewed the ongoing development works and instructed officials to complete the remaining works at the earliest.
Zonal Commissioner Satish, Chief Engineers Lokesh and Rajesh, Executive Engineers, and other concerned officials were present during the inspection.
