Chief Minister Siddaramaiah Pays Tribute to S. Nijalingappa

Bengaluru, August 8: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah praised the principles of S. Nijalingappa, who laid the foundation for the development of Karnataka, calling them inspirational.

He made these remarks while paying homage to the former chief minister by garlanding his statue in front of Vidhana Soudha on the occasion of Nijalingappa’s death anniversary.

The late S. Nijalingappa, remembered fondly by the public for his contributions to Karnataka’s development, is celebrated as one of the country’s most honest politicians. Nijalingappa led a selfless political life, tirelessly working towards the unification of Karnataka and the advancement of the irrigation sector. His ideals continue to inspire, Siddaramaiah stated.

BJP, NDA Government’s Anti-Minority Stance

In response to a question about the Waqf Board amendment bill being tabled in Parliament today, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah criticized the BJP and NDA government, stating that their actions demonstrate an anti-minority stance. He described the BJP as a communal party that does not support the principles of secularism and social justice.

When asked about his meeting with BK Hariprasad, Siddaramaiah clarified that Hariprasad, a leader of the Congress party, and he had only engaged in casual talks.
