Bengaluru, Jan. 30: Saturday was a bad day for cab aggregators like Ola and Uber as police cracked down on them for failing to renew their cab aggregator licences.
Transport department personnel booked cases against cabs attached to Uber and Ola at Kempegowda International Airport (BIA).
For Ola the licence expired in June 2021 While, for Uber, it expired in December 2021.

Licences of both Ola and Uber have expired. About 70 cabs have been booked for running without a valid permit. Cabs will be seized in the days to come. Both aggregators have applied for renewal. However, some of the conditions are not fulfilled. Operating cabs without an authorised permit is illegal and hence will be seized, said a senior official from the transport department.
