Bengaluru, Mar. 1: On the second day of a 10-day Saras – 2024 Mela at the National College Grounds a panel discussion was organized to encourage women entrepreneurs to build their enterprise and business.
Skill development, entrepreneurship and livelihood organized the mega mela at the National College grounds, women enterprise. Ratna- NSRCEL IIM gave a pep talk on promoting brand and their products.
Addressing the women entrepreneurs Ms. Ratna said “One lakh people may distract you in one lakh ways. But you should be focused and determined on your business to take it to new heights. Then nobody can distract or disturb you.”
You would be of the opinion that you are making your own product and wondering why you are not a successful business entrepreneur to sell or export your products? Why your product is not on display at D Mart or malls or at any local shops?
Before starting your business you need to pose certain basic questions to yourself. Like is the branding okay and is the packaging okay? Then you must look for the different avenues or ways of marketing your product.
The primary problem that majority of the entrepreneurs face is failure in getting an attractive brand logo and website design. They fear approaching a logo or website designer thinking of the financial implications. That is the wrong approach. Every product must have an attractive brand logo and website to promote the business, she suggested.
Every product has a fixed market in the open market. Create your market using the your connections and networking, recommendation, if required use sentiment too, she said.
Don’t ever compare your business with others or their behaviour. The sustainability will happen only when you don’t spend everything you earn, cautioned Ms. Ratna.
Asking right questions before starting the business is imperative. Am I fit for the business, do I have proper skill, strategy and sufficient knowledge about getting funds for the business are essential, she suggested.
She shared information about MSME, CEDOK and RUDSET and other sources of help and guidance.
