Karnataka Ranks No.1 in India for EV Charging Infrastructure
Bengaluru, Nov. 6: Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited has been awarded the prestigious ‘Charge India 2024 Excellence’ award for its outstanding contribution to establishing a robust electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, promoting eco-friendly mobility across Karnataka.
The award was presented at a recent ceremony organized by the Emobility community, attended by representatives from the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation, private EV charging service providers, and leading EV industry figures.
Karnataka proudly holds the top position nationwide in public EV charging facilities, boasting a network of 5,765 EV charging stations. Maharashtra follows with 3,728 stations, Uttar Pradesh with 1,989, and Delhi with 1,941.
Bengaluru alone hosts 4,462 charging stations, representing 85% of Karnataka’s total network, solidifying its role as a hub for EV adoption and infrastructure.
The EV Mitra app, developed by BESCOM, further enhances the EV user experience, providing features such as user profile management, station information, booking options, billing, and multiple payment methods. The app is available on both Android and iOS, offering convenient access to real-time charging information across the state.
