Bengaluru, Feb. 17: The state government has committed to provide 3 phase power supply to agricultural pump sets for 4 hours in a day and 3 hours at night, further 24- hours power supply to rural households through Nirantara Jyothi Yojane (NJY) Feeders.
Further, single phase power supply is extended to the farmhouses from 6 PM to 6 AM only for domestic purpose and also considering the interest of the students who are residing in farmhouses (apart from three hours 3 phase power) through irrigation feeders.
But, few farmers are using single-phase pump sets in the irrigation feeders at night, which led feeders tripping and interruptions in power supply.
Hence, BESCOM has appealed to farmers not to use single phase pump sets between 6PM and 6AM.
