Priority to City Cleanliness and Beautification

Following the instructions of the Hon’ble Chief Minister and directions from the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, the Commissioner of Bengaluru Central City Corporation, Rajendra Cholan, has been conducting a series of field inspections to monitor the progress of road development works. As a result, the Engineering Department officials have been working actively to repair damaged roads and ensure smoother commutes for the public, said Commissioner Rajendra Cholan.

Details of Roads Where Pothole/Patch Work and Asphalt/Concrete Road Works Were Completed Over the Last Two Days:

  • In front of Halasuru Gate Police Station
  • Mission Road
  • K.G. Road
  • Jayamahal Road
  • Richmond Road
  • Cockburn Road
  • H.K.P. Road
  • St. John’s Church Road
  • Ali Asker Road
  • Dickinson Road
  • Kumara Krupa Road
  • Mysuru Road
  • Sunkenahalli
  • Gavipuram Road
  • Basavanagudi Road
  • Roads surrounding Gandhi Bazaar
  • Roads around G.M. Palya in Jeevan Bheemanagar

Concrete works have been completed and road development taken up in these locations.

Locations Where Mass Cleaning Drives Were Conducted:

Under the limits of Bengaluru Central City Corporation:

  • Chickpet Division: Narayanaswamy Garden on BTS Main Road, near Indira Canteen in Hombegowda Nagar.
  • Shantinagar Division: From the major stormwater drain on Bannerghatta Road up to Hosur Main Road, both sides.
  • C.V. Raman Nagar Division: From Philips Millennium to Swami Vivekananda Metro Station, both sides; and further from Swami Vivekananda Metro Station up to Tin Factory.

Wet waste, dry waste, plastic, discarded furniture such as sofas, and other debris were cleared to maintain cleanliness and enhance the city’s aesthetics.

Removal of Pedestrian Encroachments:

During the mass cleaning drive, unauthorized shops and other encroachments along footpaths were removed with the assistance of local police.

The cleanliness drive was conducted under the leadership of Chief Engineers Suguna and Vijaykumar Haridas, with active participation from Executive Engineers, Assistant Executive Engineers, Gangmen, Supervisors, Pourakarmikas, and other staff who worked diligently to ensure a cleaner city.
