BBMP employees harassed and fleeced, alleges a Dalit organisation

Bengaluru, Feb. 19: It appears that the BBMP has turned into a den of corruption! The BBMP employees’ Association which is established with the motto of welfare is allegedly fleecing them, alleged state president of Dalita Seva Sangha J Chandrappa.

Speaking to media persons at the BBMP head office on Monday he alleged that on one hand senior officials and on the other hand the Employees’ association is playing with the lives of BBMP employees., The post of Health Supervisors is up for sale. Each post is allegedly ‘sold’ for Rs. Five lakh and complaints in this regards have poured into our office already.

The BBMP issued a notification to fill vacant posts of medical supervisors by the promoted senior health inspectors from health department, he said., “An official notification has been issued posting 36 officials for the post of medical supervisor. As per the complaints received by our office, each of the officials would have to cough up Rs. Five lakh to Manjunath Swamy Deputy Commissioner, Admin, to get the posting. Interestingly, the medical supervisors functioning here are due for retirement only in June. However, the BBMP has already issued postings for medical supervisors, which is unauthorised. This move gives scope for clashes among themselves, ” he revealed.

Further, Karnataka State Corporations Employees Association President A Amruthraj is enjoying all the perks without even attending the office as mandated. The rules of BBMP seems to not apply to him as he has been functioning in the same office for several years without getting transferred, Amruth Raj has founded A Amruthraj Education, Health and Social Service Trust .

Being a government employee establishing a trust is unauthorised. A trust in the name of Amruth Raj has been established and collecting money from employees to organise programmes and events, Collecting money regularly is nothing but collecting ‘hafta’ in the name of organising programmes, said Chandrappa.

Recently, Amrtuth Raj celebrated his grand birthday and launched the trust in a bid to collect money, he charged., Following complaints to BBMP chief commissioner Tushar Giri Nath and Administrator Rakesh Singh, Mr. Tushar has assured to investigate into the matter and initiate action immediately., Office bearers of Dalita Seva Sangh Kannalli Krishnappa, Suguna Ashwath, Sagar and others were present on the occasion.
