Congress’ dream that guarantees will work out won’t come true, opines Bommai
Haveri (Shiggaon):
People will give a fitting response to the Congress’ misgovernance and atrocities over the past one and a half years in this by-election, said former Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai.
Speaking to the media in Shiggaon on Saturday, he said the Congress is dreaming that their guarantees will be successful, but it will not come true. In the last Lok Sabha election, he had focused more on Haveri-Gadag district, and there was a slight difference in results. However, the BJP workers are already aware of this. Just as the people supported the BJP in the last Assembly elections, they will receive the same kind of support and the party workers are fully geared up for the election.
“Congress leaders themselves have alleged that they have given tickets to rowdy-sheeters. They should provide a clarification on this”, he said
When asked about Housing and Minorities Welfare Minister Minister Zameer Ahmad’s challenge, Bommai termed it as “ridiculous and far from the truth.”
To a question about caste calculations in the Shiggaon constituency, the MP said they are all united. People from all communities have expressed their support for him. In this election, Bharat Bommai will receive even more support than he did.
He dismissed any impact from the persuasion of Congress rebel candidate Ajjampir Khadri, saying that is an internal matter of the Congress.
Regarding each Congress minister visiting the hobli, Bommai saif “Let them come; they are welcome.
