GUEST COLUMN: Dr N Prabhudev
Bengaluru, July 5: Fathers are most unsung, unpraised and unnoticed! You’re not a dad just because you make enough money to pay the bills or your name is scribbled onto a birth certificate or you passed your genes down to another generation.
He doesn’t lie. He doesn’t cheat. A dad puts his children before himself. His kids are the best thing that ever happened to him. A dad never stops being a good role model. He never lets himself slack. His child’s happiness matters more than his own. They mean everything to him.
A mother’s love is an ineffable force, a profound emotion that transcends language. It is a bond forged from the very first heartbeat and a connection that endures beyond time and space. To the world, you are a mother. To the family, you are the world. We salute you for your strength, your love, and your dedication to the family. You are truly the heart and soul of the family! Thank you for everything you do, moms. We love you!
General Perception- Moms are great! Fathers are good! Mind you, only good!
Fathers are firm yet gentle. Let’s be honest – it’s tough work! More than your kids need a friend, they need a parent. You are their parent when necessary and a friend in need, even when it means being the tough guy. Fathers ensure that the family has a roof over their heads, food on the table, and access to education and healthcare. This contribution is perceived as less profound compared to the daily caregiving tasks, they go unnoticed and are unappreciated.
Fathers often stand as the silent weavers. Their threads run deep, often unnoticed, yet holding together the fabric of love and security in the family. They are the steady guardians, and the solid rocks in the rough waters of life. A beacon in the darkness, with love that’s so sound. His strength is like a mountain, his heart is like the sea, a guide in life’s journey, steady and strong.
Oh God, Give us this day our daily bread – A father goes beyond this! Delivers us from evil. A father leads with love and says I love you, I’m proud of you, and I’m going to stand with you and always be there for you,” it changes the life of that child forever. A father is a compassionate friend in need and deed!
It includes providing emotional, financial, and social support, as well as playing a role in the child’s upbringing and development. It’s a lifelong commitment of patience, love, understanding, and sacrifice. Every parent wants to raise a child who has high self-esteem and grows up to be a capable and confident adult.
A father is someone you look up to no matter how tall you grow. Fatherhood is a marathon, not a sprint. It’s about showing up day after day, making sacrifices, and being there for your children no matter what! A Father is more than a hundred teachers!
When it comes to sacrifices, fathers often go unnoticed. They quietly work behind the scenes. Their sacrifices may not always be grand gestures, but are significant and meaningful! For the family a father is the strength of a mountain, the majesty of a tree, the calm of a quiet sea, the warmth of a summer sun and the wisdom of ages!
The child stumbles, before he can walk. Father holds him before the fall! The father teaches him to walk and talk, sing and dance and teaches him fair play! Fathers are central to the emotional well-being of their children. Many girls have a father fixation!
No it’s not Mom VS Dad! It’s about Moms and Dads! The world has placed the father to be Mother first and father second – perhaps as an afterthought! A father is indeed an enigma, a mystery wrapped in layers of love, strength, sacrifice and wisdom. In his arms, the child finds comfort, in his love, they are free and fearless. Behind every great son and a daughter is truly an amazing father. Father is a son’s first hero and a daughter’s first love. I have learnt from my son- Don’t raise your voice, improve your arguments.
