Bengaluru, June 1: The name of KPCC Secretary Dr Anand Kumar, who has been a dedicated and devoted worker of the Congress, has come to the forefront.
The lobby has intensified in the Congress party in the elections to the Legislative Council from Assembly Constituency. The list will be released any time soon.
Home Minister Dr G. Parameshwar and Social Welfare Minister Dr H. C. Mahadevappa have extended solid suppirt to Dr Anand Kumar.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is believed to have positively responded to Dr Anand Kumar’s candidature. KPCC President D. K. Shivakumar is also said to be in favour of Dr Anand Kumar.
The ball is now in the court of AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge.
Dr Anand Kumar belongs to the Right Wing section ami g the SCs. Apart from his long association with the Congress, Dr Anand Kumar has discharged various responsibilities in the party.
He has also functioned as Chairman of Karnataka Compost Development Corporation along with holding various posts in the party.
A delegation led by former Minister H. M. Revanna had called on D. K. Shivakumar and prevailed upon him to consider Dr Anand Kumar as candidate for MLC elections.
It is reliably learnt that Dr Anand Kumar’s name has come to the forefront.
Kharge, who is busy in the campaigning for Lok Sabha elections, is expected to finalize the list very shortly.
