Millennial male dominance is about to end

Bengaluru, March 7: For decades, women have shown that they can do anything they set their minds on. Ambition isn’t only for men, and sometimes those with two X chromosomes can turn into a phenomenal woman- I know one!

Behind every successful man there is a woman! Behind a successful woman is herself! Women are strong but gentle, educated but humble, fierce but compassionate, passionate but rational!
Decades ago women were expected to be wives and mothers, tasked with raising good, moral citizens and keeping comfortable homes. Now you are a force to reckon with! Being a woman you have often sacrificed your opportunities and your identity to be a good wife and a mother! Enough is enough! Womanhood is not simply a set of body parts and its functions.

In 1966, music legend James Brown recorded “It’s a Man’s, Man’s World”! Not anymore! The origin of a child is a mother, a woman… She shows a man what loving, caring and sharing is all about” I salute all women who uphold the dignity of womanhood. The road to gender equality remains long and ever-shifting.
Your beauty is your courage, conviction and dignity. Breathe fire! Think big and get what you want! A beautiful way to celebrate being a woman is to respect yourself and unapologetically pursue your dreams. Celebrate each and every win – Big or small. Don’t be harsh to yourself and stop being self-critical! You are worthy, capable, valuable and wonderful.

Whatever you give, the woman makes it bigger and grander! Give her a house and she will make it home! Give her the groceries she will give you a meal. Give her a sperm she will give you a beaytiful child! Women now account for a larger portion of breakthroughs in science and economics. God gave women the brains and the beauty. Used properly, the combination easily jumbles the brain of any man in the world.
Often Homes have become the ‘most dangerous’ of places for women! It is a travesty that so many women, suffer physically and sexually at the hands of their so called loved ones – the world cannot pride itself as being civilized, fair and equal! Woman is a better organizer, more compassionate and less corrupt! She continues to surprise me with her resilience, energy, and passion.
Our beliefs make women a goddess. We fail to recognize her as a human being. We worship goddesses but we exploit girls. We are a society of people with double-standards. Mother, her love is immeasurable; Wife is next to you at each step of your life and sacrifices everything to take care of you, children and family, sacrifices her career in order to take care of you. It goes unrecognized.

Divorce laws are unfair to women!
1.36 million People in India are divorced. India has the least divorce rate- 1% marriages! This is not a good thing for the abused women! They have no way out of a troubled marriage. Every woman has a right to live free and with dignity whether divorced or in the marriage!
It is not the quantum of money earned. It is the commitment, Kindness and sacrifices along with the financial contribution made, should be taken into consideration. Even if she is not earning by way of working outside she is an equal partner from the day of marriage to the day of getting divorce granted. She is not a subordinate!
The grounds on which women seek divorce are based on the issue of basic survival – throwing her out of the residence- even jointly owned, constant insults to her, refusal to provide maintenance, preventing her from seeking gainful employment or taking away her salary, aspersions on her moral character, acute physical, sexual or emotional abuse, misbehaving with the children etc. Her right to residence is not even recognized. It looks like after marriage, the woman’s body is mortgaged to her husband.

Violence against women!
No nation, no society, no community can claim to be part of the civilized world if there is violence against women. Cruelty by husband and Violence at home are the most reported violent crimes against women in India.
Rape and pillage have been going on for millennia and I’m not convinced they are going to be eradicated. You still have to go back to work while your body is broken and while you silently suffer from postpartum depression. You are still being abused by your husband and the family!Your daughters are still told they are beautiful before they are told they are smart. Your daughters are still told to behave even though “boys will be boys.”

Believe in yourself. Never Compromise Your Personal Safety. Never put yourself at serious risk. Never Give Less Than Your Best. We are very proud of what you have accomplished so far. You should be proud too.
