Dr Narendra Rangappa BJP candidate from Mahadevapura?

Bengaluru, April 13: The state BJP is believed to be seriously considering Dr Narendra Rangappa, an Orthopaedic Surgeon, as candidate from Mahadevapura Reserve Assembly Constituency for the May 10 Assembly elections.

Former minister Aravinda Limbavali has been representing Mahadevapura Constituency for the last four terms. His name has not figured in the first list of candidates that was released on Tuesday late night.

A well-known practicing Orthopaedic surgeon for the last two decades in Bangalore city, Dr Narendra Rangappa hails from an illustrious family. His great grandfather Late Munivenkatappa was the Member of the Mysore Representative Assembly (MRA) during the Maharaja’s period. His grandfather Late Muniswamy was MLC in mid-60s. His father Late Rangappa had retired as Deputy Commissioner of Police.

A visiting doctor for three hospitals and having a private practice of his own, Dr Narendra Rangappa is currently the member of the State Executive Committee of the BJP and takes part in the TV panel discussion. He belongs to the Bhovi community in the Scheduled Caste category.

The BJP has not yet announced the candidate for Mahadevapura constituency. Sources disclosed that Dr Narendra Rangappa’s name was taken up for consideration and discussion on Wednesday late evening.
