Bengaluru, Oct. 1: Nadada Navaneeta Dr. Pandit Venkatesh Kumar, a short film directed by the Karnataka’s Department of Information and Public Relation (DIPR) has bagged Rajat Kamal (Silver Lotus) award at the 68th National Film Award ceremony.
Noted film director Girish Kasaravalli had directed a short film on the renowned Hindustani singer Pandit M. Venkatesh Kumar in 2020.

Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai commended the feat achieved by the DIPR and congratulated the principal secretary, commissioner, director, senior officials and all technical and supporting staff. It is a proud moment and through this achievement another feather has been added to the Karnataka’s film field.

The 68th National Film Awards were presented by President Droupadi Murmu on Friday evening. Veteran actress Asha Parekh was conferred with the 52nd Dada Saheb Phalke Award. Ajay Devgn, Suriya and Aparna Balamurali won Best Actor awards. Tanhaji and Soorarai Pottru were given the Best Feature Film awards. This year, National Film Awards were announced in July 2022.
