Bengaluru, June 7: Providing last mile connectivity has become a challenge in Bengaluru as the city has grown in haphazard manner and vast.
Although auto rickshaws are made available in close proximity of metro stations they usually dictate their terms. Cab aggregators are available but one need to be smart to book in advance to save time.
Bicycle play crucial role in reaching nearby areas without wasting any time.
In an attempt to promote green initiative, BMRCL has officially allowed Metro passengers to carry a foldable bicycle in the last coach of Metro Train along with their travel.

It may be recalled that earlier also foldable bicycles were allowed as back as 2012, which is a decade ago.
The size of the foldable bicycle shall not exceed 60 CM X 45 CM X 25 CM in dimension and not exceeding 15 Kgs in weight, according to an official communique.
It will be subjected to security check through the baggage scanner during entry. The bicycle shall be packed properly so that it does not damage the interiors of Metro coaches,
Also, it shall not cause inconvenience to the co-passengers.
The payment of luggage charges is exempted for carriage of foldable bicycles.
