Bengaluru, May 21: Not hiking fuel prices ahead of polls is quite common. Now, keeping an eye on the upcoming BBMP and Zilla Panchayat polls the union government has reduced the fuel prices.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman for reducing the Central Excise Duty on Petrol by Rs8 per litre and Rs6 per litre on Diesel.
The decision would bring the price of Petrol down by Rs 9.50 and the price of Diesel would come down by Rs 7 per litre. This is a pro-people decision and ” I thank the Prime Minister on behalf of the people of Karnataka for the decision,” the Chief Minister tweeted.
