With issue of PSI Exam scam rocking the police department and the state the Aam Aadmi Part (AAP) State President Prithvi Reddy has urged the Governor to intervene and dismiss the Home Minister Araga Jnanendra.
A delegation led by Reddy including retired IPS officer Bhaskar Rao submitted a memorandum on Tuesday.
Meeting the Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot Prithvi handed over three requests in writing and asked him to issue orders for speedy implementation of same.
The first request was that 52,000 candidates have taken the PSI test and in the wake of the exposed scam, re-examination needs to be held. A new examination authority must be constituted and the exams held in a transparent manner.
Secondly, the investigation by CID into the scam is progressing at a slow pace and the government can influence the investigation, which will cause further delay and hence, a time frame must be fixed for completing the investigation. The guilty need to be arrested immediately and charge sheet filed at the earliest.
AAP delegation requested the Governor to issue orders accordingly.
Thirdly, the Home Ministry is a very sensitive department on the Cabinet and the incumbent Minister Araga Jnanendra has shown his ineptness time and again since his appointment. Hence he should be sacked immediately and a capable person be appointed in his place. The Governor must issue an order to this effect requested Bhaskar Rao.
AAP leaders Naganna Gowda, Channappa Gowda Nellur and Jagadish Chandra were present.
