Procured narcotics substance from dark web using bitcoins
Bengaluru, April 25: Sleuths of CCB Narcotics wing have cracked down on a interstate drug peddler and recovered banned narcotic substance worth Rs. 6.5 lakh from him on Monday under Hennur police limits. The accused hailed from Kerala.
The Modus operandi of the accused is that he used to place order for banned narcotic substance from “wickrme” a dark website and was procuring banned substances like MDMA crystal, ecstasy pills, charas and other substances. Police also seized a laptop, a mobile phone, electric weighing machine. He used to procure them through bitcoins and was selling to his customers.
His prospective customers are IT-BT employees, college students and acquaintances. MDMA crystal is expensive and used to sell all kinds of substance ranging between Rs. 8,000 and Rs. 15,000. Other sunstances he was selling for just Rs. 1,000 per gram.
A case has been registered under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act, 1985-86. Interestingly, he is not only a drug peddler but also was using crypto currency to procure narcotic substance.
