Chikkamagaluru, April 19: Mutts play a significant role in maintaining peace and harmony in the society. Self conscience, a sense of compassion and fear of sin is still alive among the people due to the responsible functioning of these mutts, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.
The Chief Minister was speaking at the Mahakumbhabhisheka Mahotsav of Hariharapura Sri Adi Shankaracharya Sharada Lakshminarasimha Peeta.
“We should build a society with character. We should adopt atleast a bit of ideals and principles of Adi Shankaracharya,” Bommai said.
The power of Adi Shankaracharya has united the country from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. Similarly the seer of Sharada Mutt is spreading the ideals of social harmony, Bommai said.
