Bangalore, April 2:
The State government is committed for the welfare of the Police personnel and a sum of Rs 5 Cr would be provided for the corpus fund for the welfare of the retired Police officers, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.
Speaking to media persons after participating in the Police Flag Day celebrations, Bommai said, people expect the Police to work with efficiency and honesty. State police are functioning well. Our government has started construction of more than 10000 houses for the police personnel at a cost of Rs5000 cr. Karnataka has the distinction of providing the highest housing facility of 45% for its Police personnel. It would be raised to 60% by 2025. Bommai said.
For the first time 100 new Police Stations were sanctioned last year and Rs50 cr has been provided this year for purchase of vehicles. Action has been taken for recruitment of over 16000 police personnel, Bommai said.
