Though I am not used to celebrating my birthday, I have received the blessings and wishes on the occasion with a resolve to lead Karnataka towards development, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.
Speaking to media persons at his residence he said, from Prime Minister Modi, who has tweeted, to the President, senior leaders of the party and the common man of the state, birthday wishes are pouring in. Union Home Minister Amit Shah had also called to wish. I have thanked them all. It has given me the strength and inspiration to lead Karnataka towards prosperity and comprehensive development. Welfare of the poor, women, farmers, backwards, SC/ST and the youth would get special focus, Bommai said.
Booklet to provide overview of state’s development
As his government is completing 6 months on Friday a booklet providing an overview on its achievements would be released at the Banquet Hall in Vidhana Soudha. “The booklet has all the details on the development works done, Covid management, flood relief works and welfare programmes for the women in the last 6 months,” Bommai said.
Election Year Budget
“State budget will be presented in the coming days. It would also be an election year budget. Focus would be on stabilizing the state economy, at the same time I intend to formulate new programmes for comprehensive development of the state and welfare of all the communities. We have all the dimensions and I have resolved to lend direction and pace to achieve the target,” the Chief Minister said.
