Bengaluru, Nov 18: Dismissing any political discussions with AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar today said the discussion was all about finalizing a date for the foundation stone laying for the new party offices.
Speaking to reporters at Kempe Gowda International airport, he said, “I always meet my leaders when I visit Delhi. But I did not meet them for political discussions. I discussed dates for the foundation stone laying for the new party offices. I had not bothered him all these days as he was busy with Bihar elections.” He was replying to a question on whether the Cabinet reshuffle was discussed.
No delay in Mekedatu project
Asked if his meeting with the High Command was successful, he said, “I did not meet anyone from the High command. I felicitated our lawyers who fought Mekedatu case in the Supreme Court. I met our legal counsels for Mekedatu to discuss the next steps. There is a CNNL meeting tomorrow and we discussed what needs to be discussed in the meeting. CM also met the PM and discussed the same.”
“We are working hard for Mekedatu project which will provide drinking water for Bangaloreans and water to industries. I was busy discussing the next course of action with lawyers. During Kapil Sibal’s meeting, I had word with senior lawyers on the same,” he added.
Asked if some MLAs were trying to lobby for ministership, he said, “What is wrong in it? MLAs and MLCs have the right to become ministers. They have worked for the party and hence they are desiring position. We can’t say it is wrong.”
Asked if Cabinet reshuffle would happen or leadership change would happen, he said, “You should ask some astrologer.
