Karnataka bags award for Highest Under Construction Wind Capacity
- KREDL participates as State Partner at Windergy 2025, showcases Karnataka’s Wind Energy potential
Bengaluru, Nov 2nd, 2025 – Karnataka has been recognized for its outstanding contributions to wind power and has secured an award nationally for the *Highest Under Construction Wind Capacity in the year 2024-25. This achievement underscores Karnataka’s commitment to renewable energy and its proactive measures in harnessing wind power to meet its energy needs.
Mr. T. D. Raje Gowda, MLA and Chairman, Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) and Mr. K.P. Rudrappaiah, Managing Director, KREDL, received the award from Mr. Pralhad Joshi, Honorable Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution & New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, at the 7th edition of Windergy India 2025, country’s flagship wind energy event organized by the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA), at the Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai
KREDL set up an informative and interactive stall highlighting Karnataka’s growing wind energy footprint, ongoing projects, and collaboration opportunities in the sector. The stall drew considerable attention from industry leaders, policymakers, developers & manufacturers.
Inaugurating the KREDL stall at the event, Union Minister Mr. Pralhad Joshi appreciated Karnataka’s progressive policies and efforts in driving India’s renewable energy transition. “When the government and industry come together and work in collaboration, we can achieve remarkable milestones in the renewable energy sector. It reflects the power of partnerships in driving innovation, boosting capacity, and building a sustainable future for our country” he explained.
Expressing his happiness over the award, Energy Minister, K.J. George said, “It is a proud moment for Karnataka to be recognized for having the highest under-construction wind energy capacity in the country. This award is a testament to the state’s unwavering commitment to clean energy and sustainable development. I congratulate the officials of KREDL for their tireless efforts and proactive approach in driving forward Karnataka’s renewable energy goals. “
