Review Meeting of East and North City Corporations Chaired by the Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao

Chief Commissioner Sri Maheshwar Rao chaired a progress review meeting today with officials of the Bengaluru East and North City Corporations, reviewing various ongoing projects and issuing necessary directions for effective implementation.

East City Corporation:

The Chief Commissioner directed officials to expedite ongoing developmental works in the Mahadevapura and K.R. Puram areas under the East City Corporation limits.

He instructed that road potholes be effectively filled and streetlight maintenance be carried out properly. To strengthen solid waste management, he asked officials to assess the requirement for additional compactors and auto-tippers and submit a report accordingly.

The High-Density Corridor Project, covering a total length of 7 km—including Old Airport Road (Yamalur to O Farm, 5.5 km) and ITPL Road (Hoodi Circle to Pattandur Agrahara, 1.5 km)—is in progress. The Chief Commissioner instructed that these works be completed at the earliest.

Five mechanized sweeping machines are currently operational to maintain cleanliness on major roads within the Corporation limits. He directed officials to review the need for additional machines if necessary.

Regarding the Panathur Road development, officials informed that 1.5 km of asphalting has been completed, while works by KPTCL, BESCOM, and the BWSSB are ongoing for the remaining 500 meters. Once these are completed, wet mix and asphalting will be taken up immediately.

North City Corporation:

The Chief Commissioner instructed officials to expedite development works at major junctions across the North City Corporation limits.

He directed that batch mix plants be kept fully functional and asphalt production and supply be carried out in line with indents received from the corporation.

Officials were asked to promptly resolve any obstacles hindering project execution and ensure smooth continuation of all works. The Chief Commissioner assured that any issues raised will be addressed on priority.

The meeting was attended by Sri Pommala Sunil Kumar and Sri Ramesh D.S., Commissioners of North and East City Corporations respectively; Dr. K. Harish Kumar, Special Commissioner; Karigowda, CEO, BSWML; Latha R, Lokhande Snehal Sudhakar, and Additional Commissioner (Revenue) Amaresh, Additional Commissioners; Dr. Dakshayini and Mohammed Naem Momin, Joint Commissioners; Chief Engineers, and other senior officials.
