The Commissioner of Bengaluru North City Corporation, Pommala Sunil Kumar, conducted a Phone-In Programme on Friday from 7:00 a.m. at the Corporation’s Control Room located on Amruthahalli Main Road, Byatarayanapura.
Immediate Action to Fill Potholes and Repair Roads:
During the programme, a majority of the grievances received pertained to potholes. In response, the Commissioner directed the concerned officials to take immediate measures to fill potholes across the Bengaluru North City Corporation limits and to carry out necessary repair works on damaged stretches. He emphasized the need to ensure smooth vehicular movement and proper maintenance of roads for the convenience of the public.
Measures for Effective Waste Management:
Several complaints received during today’s Phone-In Programme were related to improper waste management and solid waste disposal issues. The Commissioner instructed the officials to address these problems on a priority basis and ensure efficient waste management across all divisions.
Summary of Complaints Received:
- Road maintenance, repairs, and potholes – 24 complaints
- Waste management – 16 complaints
- E-Khata and related services – 1 complaint
- Electrical-related issues – 4 complaints
- Removal of dangerous trees / branches – 3 complaints
- Building plan-related issues – 1 complaint
- Park maintenance – 4 complaints
- Traffic issues and advertisements – 2 complaints
Additionally, complaints pertaining to other city corporations (2), BWSSB (2), and Banavara Town Municipality (1) were recorded. These will be forwarded to the respective civic bodies and concerned departments for further action.
A total of 41 calls were received during today’s Phone-In Programme, registering 56 complaints overall.
To continue addressing public grievances promptly and monitor the progress of developmental works within the City Corporation limits, the Commissioner will hold the Phone-In Programme every Friday. The complaints received will be reviewed, and necessary actions will be taken in accordance with regulations through the concerned officials.
