Streamline Administrative System in West City Corporation Limits: Maheshwar Rao

To streamline the administrative system in the jurisdiction of the West City Corporation, the Chief Commissioner, Maheshwar Rao directed the officials to take appropriate measures.

He chaired the progress review meeting held on Friday with officials at the Rajarajeshwari Nagar office of the Bengaluru West City Corporation on various civic issues.

He emphasized the need for prompt response to citizens’ grievances and instructed officials to work efficiently and resolve local issues within the stipulated time.

He directed them to give top priority to cleanliness and take effective steps to curb roadside garbage dumping. Officials were also instructed to ensure that all pending pothole works are completed at the earliest.

Take Measures to Enhance Property Tax Collection:

The Chief Commissioner directed that effective steps be taken to improve property tax collection within the West City Corporation limits. He noted that property tax is a major source of revenue and instructed officials to ensure achievement of the collection targets.

Streetlight Maintenance:

He instructed officials to ensure proper maintenance of streetlights across the city limits and to carry out repair works promptly wherever necessary.

Establishment of TDR Cell:

He further directed the establishment of TDR (Transferable Development Rights) Cells in the city corporations to ensure equitable distribution of public amenities and facilitate smoother implementation of infrastructure projects.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Rajendra K.V., Commissioner of the West City Corporation; Dr. K. Harish Kumar, Special Commissioner; Karegowda, CEO of Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Limited; Joint Commissioners Sangappa and Aarti Anand; along with Deputy Commissioner, Superintending Engineer, Chief Engineers, and other officials.
