Bengaluru Express

Bengaluru, August 5:

BBMP Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao has directed officials to take necessary measures to prevent waterlogging on roads during the monsoon season.

Speaking at a meeting held on Monday at the BBMP Head Office, which addressed various civic issues in the city, the Chief Commissioner emphasized the need for immediate action at locations along the Outer Ring Road that are prone to waterlogging during heavy rains.

He specifically highlighted key areas such as Hebbal Junction, Nagawara Junction, Vidyashilpa Junction, Rupeena Agrahara, Marathahalli Police Station, Karthik Nagar, Kasturi Nagar Flyover, Palace Guttahalli, Panathur Railway Underpass, Nayandahalli Junction, RR Nagar Arch, and Sumanahalli Junction, among others. He instructed officials to resolve issues at these locations on a priority basis to avoid flooding.

He further directed that coordination be established with the BMRCL wherever metro construction is underway, to address any related issues. Side drains along the roads must be cleaned and de-silted to ensure smooth drainage of rainwater.

Potholes Must Be Filled:

The traffic division has provided a list of potholes on the Outer Ring Road and other major roads. The Chief Commissioner instructed that potholes be filled based on this list, in order of priority. This, he said, would significantly improve vehicular movement and help manage traffic congestion more effectively.

Present at the meeting were Special Commissioners Karigowda and Suralkar Vikas Kishor, Zonal Commissioners Ramesh, Ramya, Digvijay Bodke, Snehal, Chief Engineers, and other concerned officials.
