Rahul Gandhi’s programme details to be finalised after meeting with the AICC General Secretary: DCM

Bengaluru, July 31: Deputy Chief Minister and KPCC President DK Shivakumar said on Wednesday that the details of Rahul Gandhi’s programme on August 5 would be finalised after a meeting with the AICC General Secretary.

“Rahul Gandhi is coming to Karnataka on August 5. AICC General Secretary will hold a meeting before that to finalise the venue and itinerary,” he said while speaking to reporters at the KPCC office.

Replying to a question on Rahul Gandhi’s visit to the state, he said, “We have suggested certain venues, the AICC General Secretary will take a final decision. All party leaders have been informed to be part of this programme. A block level meeting will also be held on August 3.”

Asked if it would be a rally or a convention, he said, “We had meeting with the police and there are some technical considerations. The courts have certain conditions too. We will take a decision post our meeting with senior leaders. Our national leaders will give more information on that day about election fraud in Karnataka.”

Asked why Rahul Gandhi was visiting Karnataka while the elections are being held in Bihar, he said, “It is not the question of Karnataka or Bihar, it is a question of election sanctity.”

Asked about BJP’s criticism that only 15% of tenders are completed due to paucity of funds, he said, “The allegation is false. BJP had called for tenders during its tenure even when there was no money. Our government is calling for tenders keeping in mind the availability of finances.”
