Bangalore, Tumkur, Belagavi and Chitradurga clinch top position
Bengalore, July 27:
The 38th State Level Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior Taekwondo Championships of Karnataka Taekwondo Association has concluded successfully at Chitradurga.
Taekwondo Association of Bangalore Urban ( TAOBU ) [186 points] and Chitradurga District Taekwondo Association [114 points] stood first and second respectively in the sub-junior category in the Championships held at KEB Community Bhavan, Chitradurga.
In the cadet category, TAOBU [81 points] and Tumkur District Taekwondo Association [40 points] won the award, while in the junior category, Belagavi Taekwondo Foundation [46 points] and Taekwondo Association of Bangalore [28 points] won the awards.
Karnataka Taekwondo Association President Thirumal J and General Secretary B.N Venkatesh said that Tumkur District Taekwondo Association [36 points] and Taekwondo Association of Bangalore [23 points] won the senior category.
Around 1000 athletes from 18 districts of the state participated. Referees from Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka were invited for this Championships. Competitions were held separately for boys and girls category i.e. above 8 years and above 17 years.
